Deoghar jharkhand
Deoghar is the main city of Deoghar District in the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand, India. having a temple namly Baidyanath-Dham is one of the twelve Shiva Jyothirlingams in India and also one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in India.
Origin of name
Deoghar is a Hindi word and the meaning of deoghar is "Abode of God Goddesses". it is also known as "Baidyanath Dham", "Baba Dham", "B. Deoghar". The origin of Deoghar is lost in antiquity. Deoghar has been referred as Haritakivan, Ketakivan, etc. in Sanskrit Texts.
Baidyanath-Dham is one of the twelve Shiva Jyothirlingams in India and also one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in India. It is famous for the mela of Shrawan 5th month according to the Hindu calendar system.It is only one place in india where the jyotirlingam and the saktipeeth are both together and both are lay side by side. Here every year between July and August (month of Shraavana in hindi) about 10 to 15 million devotees come from several parts of India to offer holy water from the Ganga at Sultangunj this place is almost 108 km from Deoghar to present it to Shiva(BaBa).here we can see an unbroken line of peoples those are wearing saffron-dyed clothes stretches over the full 108 km for the month to offer holy water of Ganga to Lord Shiva.

Best place of tourist interest is Trikuti Parvat(Hill). It is situated 13 km away from Deoghar on the way to Dumka(Dist.) There are three main peaks on the hill that why this place is called trikuti parvat.The height of this hill is 1,350 feet (400 m). This hill also having a temple of Shiva known as Trikutachal Mahadeva Temple.There is an Ashram named "TRIKUTACHAL ASHRAM". This Ashram now has been one of the most power ful spiritual place in all over India even in abroad also.and Now The TRIKUTACHAL ASHRAM is the heart of Spiritual thoughts & devotional culture.
